Rodney Clark is the Vice President of Microsoft’s Worldwide Internet of Things and Mixed Reality Sales team. In this role, Rodney is responsible for building Intelligent Solutions, from edge to cloud, with partners across the ecosystem, and driving sales and go to market execution to accelerate solution development and customer solution implementation.

A 20+ year Microsoft veteran, Rodney has held a number of executive positions within the company including, General Manager of the Global Alliances, General Manager of Strategy and Sales for the worldwide small and medium business team, and General Manager of Microsoft Across America, a Technical Sales and Marketing Evangelism organization. Prior to Microsoft, Rodney spent nine years with IBM.

Outside of work, Rodney serves as an advisor of the Board of Directors for Children’s Museum Seattle and the Craig School of Business CSU-Fresno.

Søren Lau leads Microsoft IoT Solution Sales in EMEA with business and organizational accountabilities designed to accelerate device-led cloud solutions with key partners and customers across the region. Søren is also a member of the worldwide IoT Solution Sales leadership team.

Carl Coken is the General Manager of IoT within the Partner Devices and Solutions organization at Microsoft Corp. His worldwide team is responsible for working with partners to help them build IoT solutions using Microsoft’s Azure IoT cloud services and other products and technologies.

Previously at Microsoft, Mr. Coken has held a variety of roles including Sr. Director of Worldwide OEM Server Engineering and Director of Strategic Alliances for the Management Solutions Division where he was responsible for the partner ecosystem for Microsoft’s System Center product family. Mr. Coken brings to Microsoft a wealth of experience in technology marketing, sales, engineering, alliances, as well as mergers and acquisitions.

Prior to Microsoft, Mr. Coken held senior positions at SMARTS (a startup acquired by EMC), BMC Software, Inc., Digital Equipment Corp., and Compaq Computer Corp., both now part of Hewlett-Packard.

Patrick Ward is a Principle Solution Specialist, IoT for Microsoft. In this role, Patrick helps Microsoft’s customers across EMEA to leverage the power of IoT to transform their businesses.

Patrick began his career in Product Development at Nortel and has led various management roles in UK, Canada, and Ireland across telecoms, internet, financial services and cloud computing.

Patrick has held a number of roles in Microsoft, including Head of Audience Marketing and Director of Evangelism in Microsoft Ireland. As Windows Business Group Lead, he launched Windows 8, Windows 10 and Surface in the Irish market.

A native of Dublin, Patrick has a Degree in Electronic Engineering from Dublin Institute of Technology and an MBA from UCD Smurfit Business School.

The mission of the Windows IoT team is “Be the platform and service of choice for all device builders”. As the Senior Director for Sales Strategy & Operations within Microsoft’s IoT Device Partner group, Andrew leads both the business transformation plans and also the operational capability development for our fast-moving IoT Device business.

In his 17 years at Microsoft, Andrew has held positions in the Enterprise Sales, Enterprise Services, Public Sector, and Marketing & Operations divisions of Microsoft’s UK Subsidiary, and has held leadership positions with worldwide responsibility for sales strategy and execution in both the Small & Medium Solutions & Partners group and the OEM Division. Prior to joining Microsoft, Andrew held a variety of engineering, management and policy-making roles within the UK Government.

Andrew graduated from the University of York in the United Kingdom with a Master’s degree in Electronic Engineering. He is a Chartered Engineer and outside work is a keen pianist.

Maarten Struys is an IoT Sr. Technical Specialist at Microsoft. In his current role, he works with IoT ecosystem partners, mainly in EMEA, enabling them to build repeatable IoT solutions and to connect edge devices securely to Azure. Before moving into a technical sales role, Maarten was a software developer. He has been working with many different versions of the Microsoft Windows Operating Systems for over 25 years, building embedded and mobile solutions with focus on the Industrial Automation and Healthcare verticals.

Jose Antonio is the Microsoft Western Europe SmartCities Director. He joined Microsoft in 1995 and holds a wealth of Microsoft experience in field sales, sales strategy, partners management, operations and marketing. He incubated the WW CityNext (SmartCities Solutions from Microsoft partners) program. Frequent speaker at International events like SmartCityExpo, Mobile World Forum, TEDTalk, EU Events, UNESCO SmartCities SME Consultant.

Telecommunications Engineer MS at UPM Madrid, Human Sciences MS at UFV Madrid, Enterprise and Institutional Communication Management MS at UAB Barcelona, and Financial Business MS online INSEAD. Now writing a Doctoral PhD Thesis at UFV, Madrid on “Beyond SmartCities 2.0: How to create an Attractive City for Talented Citizens”.

His favorite hobbies are Wine Culture (Enology), Golf, and spend time with his family at country space.

Susan joined Microsoft as a Senior Director for Retail in 2009 having previously held the position of Commercial Director for Sun Microsystems in the UK where she was responsible for setting the vision and strategy for driving industry growth. Prior to her appointment at Sun Microsystems, Susan held EMEA and Global positions at Oracle for 11 years, most recently as Senior Director of Alliance & Channel Sales.

Since joining Microsoft Susan has held senior leadership Sales and Business Development positions, driving cross-company country strategy and execution plans that coordinate efforts to convince Governments, Public Institutions and Industry leaders to adopt cloud and embark on journey of Digital Transformation. Most recently, Susan leads Business Strategy for Microsoft’s Smart City program, solving challenges that impact cities and communities globally, Susan also sits on the board of a Chicago based solution accelerator, City Tech transforming cities into test beds for new ideas.

Susan is a graduate in Biochemistry from The University of Portsmouth and relocated in 2014 with her family to Microsoft’s HQ in Redmond.

Benedikt Abendroth is a Senior Security Program Manager at Azure Sphere, an end-to-end solution for securely connecting IoT devices. In his current role, he is leading security assurance, incident response, and advocacy with the IoT security community and policymakers. Drawing on Azure Sphere’s expertise across silicon, operating system, and cloud security, Benedikt focuses on how customers and governments can maximize the opportunities of IoT with a high level of trust and security. He has a background in international relations and information security, and studied in Germany, the Netherlands, and the United States. His professional experience in the private, public, non-governmental and military sectors includes Microsoft’s Digital Diplomacy team, Microsoft Research, the German Council on Foreign Relations, and an NGO in Cairo in the aftermath of the Arab Spring. Benedikt also served in Human Intelligence Operations in the German Armed Forces, including a deployment to Afghanistan.

Dr. Marija Zima-Bockarjova is Smart cities and Solutions R&D and Marketing manager. She is with the Electrification business of ABB.

Dr. Marija Zima-Bockarjova has  started her career at ABB as a Research Scientist and Project Manager in 2010 and have been contributing to the disruptive  technology assessment and technology development in power systems, provided strategic technical consulting to ABB leadership, and supported ABB business development in various industrial segments.

Prior to her engagement with ABB, she was a research assistant at ETH Zürich and she was with Latvenergo – energy utility as electrical distribution planning engineer at the strategy and long-term planning department.

She is a member of CIGRE and Swiss representative of the Cigre Study committee “System Operations and Control”, she serves on the Board of Swiss Association for Energy and Network Research, and publishes in IEEE, Elsevier journals and lectures at Swiss Federal Institute of Technology in Zürich.

John Koot assists organizations in improving and transforming customer engagement, business processes, product transformation and development of new services. With more than 15 years of experience in IT, he has been Microsoft Most Valuable Professional (MVP) of Microsoft for 8 years in a row. Koot uses this background within the change process to help organizations achieve their digital aspirations. As a Director Alliances for OrangeNXT he is responsible for the relationship with Key Digital Partners.

OrangeNXT of the ICT Group supports customers with their Digital Transformation by connecting the dots between People, Devices and Data. This creates transparency and insight in the impact of change. With products and services organizations they are able to turbo-boost the Digital Transformation.

Yovav (Jay) Meydad is Moovit’s Chief Growth and Marketing Officer, responsible for user growth, demand generation, marketing, brand, and corporate communications. Meydad has been with Moovit since 2013, where he came on board as Vice President of Products and Growth and he built and managed the product team, led the company’s products roadmap, and was a core contributor to the company’s growth from 1M users to over 650M.

Yovav has over 20 years of experience as an entrepreneur, general manager, and product executive in venture capital-backed and public Internet companies in the U.S. and Israel. He holds a B.Sc. in Information Systems Engineering from the Ben Gurion University, Israel.

Ton de Vries has more than 25 years of experience in the utility and government solution business. During his 13 years with Bentley, he has been responsible for Bentley utility and government success in the Netherlands, Germany, and Eastern Europe as sales director for these regions. Upon his relocation to Exton, Pennsylvania in 2008, he has led Bentley’s 3D City initiative as a solution executive for government. More recently, De Vries was responsible for the global water and wastewater modeling sales team and business development for utilities, in close coordination with Siemens Energy Management. In his current role as Senior Director for Business Development for Digital Cities, De Vries is responsible for Bentley’s go-to-market strategy for Digital Cities.

Before joining Bentley, De Vries worked for seven years as the sales director for a Dutch Bentley partner. Prior to that, he was co-owner of a regional software and consultancy firm, specializing in document management for utilities and government. He started his career at Intergraph Benelux as a MicroStation support engineer. De Vries holds a bachelor’s degree in automotive engineering.

John Baekelmans is Vice President & Managing Director for imec in the Netherlands. As Managing Director, he is responsible for the overall NL business and operations. Next to his Imec NL role he leads the Internet of Things (IoT) & Connected Health Solutions teams and is responsible for the Smart City vertical across imec globally.

Before IMEC, John spent 21 years at Cisco where he held various global leadership positions within Engineering, Services and the M&A departments and has authored numerous US and European patents. John was also the co-founder of a Belgian residential solutions startup called fifthplay. Before Cisco, John designed, implemented and operated large PBX-networks at Siemens.

John obtained a Master’s degree in computer science from the University of Antwerp, Belgium and is a former Cisco Certified Internetwork Expert (CCIE). In his spare time, he is engaged in Belgium’s National fast response rescue team to assist in global disasters. He loves to ski, is an advanced scuba diver and currently lives in Antwerp, Belgium.

For just four years Rutger Gerritz is now Managing Director of CycloMedia Technology in the Netherlands. CycloMedia captures data from the real world and transforms it into valuable insights, enabling our users to understand the complexities of the environment around them. Rutger realized a strong growth in this period by focusing on products that truly address the challenges and needs of his clients, all active in the public space. In this period he achieved great milestones by welcoming over two hundred new clients and transforming the business from a geo-centric project based business into an broad user friendly information platform suitable to support a wide array of users and use cases, all on a recurring subscription basis. He is proud on the successes in the field of AI-powered analytics; which for sure will have his focus in 2020. Rutger holds an academic degree in business administration and is active in IT industry for over twenty years, serving companies like Dutch telco incumbent KPN and Sogeti, part of Cap Gemini. His ultimate vision is to create the perfect 3D digital twin of the outside world, in order to support any use case from behind the desktop.

Arthur Blom has joined ICONICS mid 2019 as Business Development Manager for the North-Europe Region. He is assigned to develop new business and direct sales activities for end users directly and together with Sales Channels, OEM’s, VAR’s and System Integrator Partners, and lead co-sell efforts with Microsoft as Microsoft Most Valuable Professional (MVP) from Microsoft for 6 years in a row. Arthur has more than 25+ years of experience in IT/OT. He assists and engage customers in the Digital Transformation journey to deliver faster asset-based deployments for those who are looking for ways to reduce consumption, monitor conditions, lower energy costs, and minimize carbon emissions. Solutions that for example can be scaled from a single building to an entire campus to an entire enterprise location portfolio to even an entire city.

Ger Baron is the Chief Technology Officer of the City of Amsterdam. His professional career started at Accenture, where he worked as an analyst in the consulting department. In 2007, he was hired by Amsterdam Innovation Motor (AIM) in the role of project manager, specifically to develop and enhance the role of ICT. Baron was responsible for starting up the Amsterdam ICT-cluster and he initiated several projects in public-private partnership. Among these were a number of projects related to the development of Amsterdam’s Smart City initiative. Currently, Mr Baron is responsible for innovation, R&D and innovation partnerships within the City of Amsterdam. In addition, he serves as president of the City Protocol Society.

Kitting Lee is Director Business & Innovation at BAM Infra Nederland. As a central point of contact for everything that has to do with the development and deployment of AI, he focuses on the endless possibilities of artificial intelligence within the construction sector. Within Asset Management, among other things, he is responsible for the AI application of asphalt damage recognition and he uses artificial intelligence to clarify the difference between paper and real reality. Kitting is fascinated by AI and likes to share his experiences and exchange knowledge with others. He sees it as his challenge to help the rather conservative construction and logistics sector move towards the future.
